Neue Details zu Google TV

Das TV-Projekt von Google, Sony und Intel wird nach Informationen der Financial Times den Namen “Smart TV” bekommen. Auch zur Hardware wurden erste Details bekannt:
The hardware will likely consist of a set-top box based on Intel’s Atom CPU and Google’s Android OS, while Sony is slated to reveal the plan to integrate web services into its televisions.
Wie Stan Schroeder bei Mashable berichtet, wird Google bald damit beginnen spezielle Android-Apps für Smart TV zu entwickeln:
This would give Android a whole new dimension and a certain advantage over its main rival, the iPhone OS, which is confined to the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch.

bei den vielen und qualitativ hochwertigen Diensten von google darf man sicher gespannt sein, was aus dem Projekt wird.
Neben dem VDR auf Linux-Basis, der eigentlich mehr für Bastler gedacht ist, sind auf dem Markt ja eigentlich nur sehr teure Lösungen verfügbar.
Das sollte man sicher weiter beobachten.
