Genaue Zahlen wurden bisher nicht genannt, aber Yahoo hat die Verkleinerung der Search Group zumindest allgemein bestätigt. In einem Statement an TechCrunch heißt es diplomatisch:
To accomplish our new product objectives, we have decided that we need a different combination of talent and are making changes within the search group in order to more deeply invest in other areas of the group.
Yahoo hatte zuletzt im April 2009 ca. 5% der Belegschaft entlassen.
