Wave, Gears, Friend Connect: Google stellt weitere Produkte ein

Senior Vice President Urs Hölzle hat im offiziellen Google-Blog die Einstellung mehrerer Google-Produkte bekannt gegeben. Nicht mehr weiterentwickelt werden die folgenden Dienste:
- Google Bookmarks Lists (ab 19.12.2011)
- Google Friend Connect (ab 01.03.2012)
- Google Gears (ab 01.12.2011)
- Google Search Timeline (bereits eingestellt)
- Google Wave (ab 30.04.2012)
- Google Knol (ab 30.04.2012)
Zur Begründung heißt es:
We’re in the process of shutting a number of products which haven’t had the impact we’d hoped for, integrating others as features into our broader product efforts, and ending several which have shown us a different path forward.
